To the participants of the military operations in the territory of foreign states
The day of withdrawal of Soviet troops from the territory of Afghanistan became a day to commemorate all the participants of the military operations in the territory of foreign states. Today, on the 22nd anniversary of this memorable date, Ukrainian people honour heroism and fortitude of Afghan War veterans and their brothers soldiering in more than twenty countries.
We bow our heads in sorrow for those who have not returned from the critical spots around the world.
You are aware of the real price of war and peace. You know how to appreciate every minute of life and understand your responsibility for future and destiny of future generations.
Your sons and grandsons, and all those who stand in for you, will always remember your example how to follow one´s duties, be devoted to your Motherland and your nation.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine shall always remember about those who sacrifice themself in peaceful time and exert efforts to sustain an appropriate rate of life for military operations participants and families of perished soldiers. Unfortunately, the economic power of the state can not provide the highest social security standards for you, but we expect a constructive dialogue and common approaches to solve the existing problems.
